Aluminum offers all of the advantages of a rigid frame design with only a negligible increase in overall weight and is ideal for civilian and law enforcement carry use. The aluminum frame is available only in a Dark Gray Mil Spec Type III finish.
Stainless steel is by far the most rigid alloy with an increased weight advantage for significant recoil control and energy absorption. While certainly useable in carry applications the stainless steel frame is ideally suited to competition shooting. It is available bead blasted in-the-white or finished in Robar's NP3 or Roguard finishes.
The stainless steel frame may also be ordered custom detailed - hand finished by an expert craftsman to remove all casting seams, machining marks and any surface imperfections. Grip panels are hand stippled, and the frame is hand filed and sanded, visually inspected at every stage, with the utmost attention to detail to achieve a truly high quality surface finish that will appeal to the most demanding shooter. Finger recesses are scalloped to provide better trigger finger reach, the triggerguard is sculpted to reduce middle knuckle pressure even further, the beavertail is rounded and the magazine well is smoothed. After detailing, the frame is finished in your choice of Robar's NP3 or Roguard advanced firearm coatings, guaranteed for the life of the firearm against corrosion , peeling and flaking.
The alloy frame enables you to tailor the backstrap grip angle of the pistol to suit the size and shape of your hand. Thanks to the unique interchangeable backstrap insert, you have a choice between the arched backstrap of a conventional-style grip, or the flat backstrap insert for a straight 1911-style grip angle. The insert is easily changed out with simple tools in a matter of minutes. The conventional arched insert is supplied as standard will all frames. The straight 1911-style insert is available as an option.
