Polymax Camouflage
The technicians at The Robar Companies, Inc.® have developed a procedure to apply a polymer coating to firearms. Polymax can be applied to steel, stainless steel, and aluminum surfaces. Polymax camouflage finish is available in Woodland, Urban and Desert (3 or 5 color) patterns. Polymax camouflage can be applied to the entire firearm including stock and bipod, the stock only, or in any combination. Robar® can also do custom patterns or a single color such as tan or green if that’s what you want. Polymax offers a number of advantages: Chemical Resistant, Water Resistant, Excellent Adhesion, Mar & Abrasion Resistant, Excellent Hardness, Great Impact Resistance, Custom Colors & Camouflage Available.
Performance Tests on 1 Mil Dry Film: Polymax
- 5% Salt Spray: 1000 hours - no failure
- Pencil Hardness: 2H
- Solvent and Chemical Resistant
- 100% Relative Humidity: 500 hours - no failure
- Water immersion: 100 hours - no failure
- Lubricating oil, hydraulic fluids and cutting oils, excellent resistance
- Cold Check: 16 cycles; 24 hours @ 100% humidity; 24 hours @ 10 degrees Fahrenheit, 24 hours @ 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Taber abrasion: CS 17 wheel, 1000 gm load; <100 mg. loss in 1000 cycles
- Impact resistance: Forward 100 inch pounds. Reverse 80 inch pounds
